There is no treatment for the disorder and individuals who are affected need to learn to cope with the disorder.  There are special ways that these individuals can be catered to so that their colorblind vision does not impede their performance on the job.  New computer programs have been developed that state the color of an object within that object in a picture, document, etc so that a colorblind person knows understand what colors are present.  Also, special precautions can be taken when preparing a document for a person with red-green colorblindness:

  • Use many blues and yellows

  • Use very large brightness difference

  • Blues and yellows contrast well

  • Use bold, large text whenever possible
