These reproductive patterns can yield carrier, affected, and normal children.  The possible results are:

o       Normal males

o       Affected males

o       Normal Females

o       Affected females

o       Carrier females

But, you will notice that there is no possibility of having a carrier male.  An affected male automatically carries the disease, but cannot carry the disease without being affected by it.  As mentioned above, this is because a male who is carrying the disease will be affected by it because he is carrying it on his only X chromosome.  Likewise, in the rare occurrence that a female is affected with an X-linked disease, she will be a carrier of it.
